I am a smartist -- I took my childhood urge to "make things" and followed it with courage to create a successful career as a designer & artist. I am an avid photographer and mixed-media artist but am probably best known for my work as a graphic designer with my own company Orange Star Design, Inc. (est. 1993). There is always extraordinary in the mundane -- if you look closely enough, everyday sights that wouldn't ordinarily be considered attractive or engaging can suddenly be transformed into art.
